Awards Ceremony 2004

November 2004

The Guest of Honour at the 2004 Awards Ceremony at Lambeth College was Verity Bullough, Executive Director for London Central Learning & Skills Council.

This annual event celebrates the achievements, hard work and dedication of students from the previous academic year.  Students from a wide variety of different courses received awards for outstanding achievement, great results or exceptional effort in the face of significant hardship throughout their time at the College.

This year's LOS Awards go to Sham Elabaire, Kate Gajewska, Zineb Moustahib, Michael Voss and Claire Zaorska.  LOS is the title of the 100th plate in the artist William Blake's book 'Jerusalem'.  The plate depicts the personification of the Creative Imagination and is, therefore, a fitting title for such an award.  William Blake lived in Lambeth for the most productive years of his life.  Pieces from each of the students above have been purchased by the College to add to the Governor's Art Collection.  The pieces are displayed to provide beauty and interest within the College environment.
