Urban Regeneration and Community Development Foundation Degree

This course is for those wishing to pursue careers in urban regeneration and community development and is supplemented by work-based learning throughout the year.

Course content:

Year 1 (Lambeth College):

• Urban Regeneration 1
• Social policy and welfare
• Work-based learning 1: Regeneration practice
• Community development
• Organisations and partnership
• Work-based learning 2: Community development and regeneration partnership

Year 2 (London South Bank University)

• Urban regeneration 2 (including field trip)
• Project and research managment
• Work-based learning units 3 and 4

Optional units (a choice of two of the following):

• Urban and environmental planning
• Housing
• Social policy
• Sustainable communities

After this course: Learners who successfully complete the Foundation degree are eligible to continue at London Southbank University to take the final year of one of the following BA Honours degree courses – Urban and Environmental Planning; Housing Studies; Citizenship Studies; Social Policy.
 

1 A Level pass or equivalent (80 UCAS tariff points) and 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths.

All learners need to be working or volunteering for at least two days a week with a relevant organisation and will also be required to attend an interview and pass an initial College assessment in English.
