This course covers the skills and knowledge required by anyone who is interested in becoming a home-based carer/child minder.
Course content:
- Setting up a home-based child care service
- Establishing a safe and healthy environment for children
- The importance of partnerships with parents
- Developing routines for home-based child care
- Providing activities for children that will support equality and inclusion
- Safeguarding
- Supporting positive behaviour
After this course: Progression to further level 2 child care qualification
Level 2 in English and Maths or an equivalent level in the initial College assessment.
