Health and Social Care - BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

This course helps students to develop the skills and knowledge required for Health and Social Care sector at an advanced level.

Work experience on the course is a 2-week block per year.

We want all students to aspire to complete a two year Extended Diploma.  The one year Subsidiary (90 credit) Diploma is a ‘stepping stone’ qualification, which is achieved after one year of study.  Students can then opt to progress to the Extended Diploma or study alternative courses.

• Health, safety and security
• Development through the life stages
• Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology
• Personal and professional development
• Sociological perspectives for health and science
• Psychological perspectives
• Working in the social care sector

After this course: Higher Education or employment.

Students need to have 4 GCSE passes (Grades A*- C), including English and ideally Maths Science or level 2 in the initial College assessment, or have a level 2 vocational qualification with a Merit or Distinction.

Please note:  You must provide the evidence required to apply for an enhanced CRB check.  You will be given more information about this when you apply for the course.
