This course will help students to improve their English and develop personal, communication and social skills to set up their own business. ESOL examinations will take place throughout the duration of the course.
Course content:
- English: reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar
- Citizenship
- Skills for setting up your own business: project planning; writing a business plan, setting targets, micro-market research, creating publicity, health and safety and budgeting
- Sponsorship search: applying for sponsorship and interviews
- ICT: touch typing and use of Microsoft Office
- Trial of a small-scale business project
After this course: Progression to a level 1 qualification or employment.
You will be asked to take an assessment in English to make sure you are at the right level for the course. Entry level 3 in speaking and listening is desirable.
