This course helps students to develop the skills and knowledge required to become fully qualified electricians.
Course content:
There are 9 knowledge units which are covered by the following areas:
- Health and Safety and environmental legislation
- Practices and procedures for organising the work environment
- Practices and procedures for the preparation and installation of wiring systems
- Electrical principles
- Wiring systems in buildings
- Conductors, cables and cords in electrical systems
- Inspection, testing
- Commissioning
- Fault diagnosis
After this course: Continued employment in the industry in order to carry out the completion of 8 performance units that will be assessed in the work place.

4 GCSE passes (Grades A* - C) or a level 2 vocational qualification and English or Maths at level 2 or equivalent in the initial College assessment. Learners should be employed in a related role.
