This course helps students to develop the skills and knowledge required to become fully qualified electricians.

Course content:

There are 9 knowledge units which are covered by the following areas:

Health and Safety and environmental legislation
Practices and procedures for organising the work environment
Practices and procedures for the preparation and installation of wiring systems
Electrical principles
Wiring systems in buildings
Conductors, cables and cords in electrical systems
Inspection, testing
Commissioning
Fault diagnosis

After this course: Continued employment in the industry in order to carry out the completion of 8 performance units that will be assessed in the work place.

4 GCSE passes (Grades A* - C) or a level 2 vocational qualification and English or Maths at level 2 or equivalent in the initial College assessment. Learners should be employed in a related role.
