Training to be a counsellor can take you on a personal journey, developing your awareness and ability to engage with others and helping them to combat a whole range of problems such as depression, anxiety, crisis or conflict.
Sessions are practical and include role play, listening, empathy, body language, ethics and boundaries, prejudice and stereotypes, and giving and receiving feedback.
Our introductory courses provide you with counselling skills which will be useful in a variety of roles and may help you decide whether you want to continue to train as a counsellor. You can also complete your progression pathway here and become a counselling practitioner, developing your knowledge and skills in the study and application of a variety of counselling and psychological models of therapeutic treatment.
